Palin: I’m not taking quitter’s way out
As the full video of Sarah Palin’s press conference trickles out, we’re getting more details about her decision to step down.
Somewhat strangely, Palin insisted she was not “taking the quitter’s way out.”
“It’d be apathetic to hunker down and go with the flow,” Palin said, adding that she decided to be pro-active by stepping down as Governor so that Alaska could move forward.
Palin said she first decided not to seek re-election, then decided to step down to avoid becoming a “lame duck.”
“I thought about, well, how much fun some governors had as lame ducks. They maybe travel around their states, travel to other states,” Palin said. “Then I thought, that’s whats wrong, that they accept that lame duck status…I’m not going to put Alaskans through that.”
