Mary Trump: All of Trump’s adult children ‘need to be shut out’ of politics

Mary Trump, President Trump’s niece, said that all of the president’s adult children “need to be shut out” of politics once they leave the White House.

Trump, a frequent critic of her uncle, made the comment during an interview with the “MeidasTouch Podcast” published Monday.

She was asked about rumors that Ivanka Trump, who served as a senior adviser to her father, would likely try to launch a political career of her own, specifically in trying to run for a Senate seat in the future.

“One of the reasons that I hate them so much is that we have to have conversations about them, which should be absurd. It should be a joke.” Mary Trump said, without directly naming Ivanka Trump or any of her siblings.

“What I would say to that is it’s entirely up to us,” Trump continued. “It’s not just Donald, all of his adult children need to be shut out, contained. They need to have all of their assets stripped away from them. It all needs to be burned down … their brand needs to be totally destroyed even more than they’ve already destroyed it.”

Trump said that corporations have already pulled out of contracts with the Trump Organization, such as New York City. She also said that the Trumps should “be doing nothing but defending themselves against judges.”

“So that’s down to us,” Trump continued. ”We can’ forget it. Donald has shown just how capable people like him, who have his resources, who have his connections, are rehabilitating or staying in the game when they should have been discarded a long time ago.”

President Trump’s own future in politics is not certain. If the Senate chooses to convicted him on charges of inciting a riot, it would also prevent Trump from running for federal office again. Trump last week became the only president in history to be impeached twice by the House.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. has been floated as a potential 2024 presidential candidate.
