Cindy McCain planning ‘intimate memoir’ of life with John McCain

Cindy McCain is planning a memoir detailing her life with her late husband Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), McCain announced on Twitter Tuesday.

The book, entitled “Stronger: Courage, Hope & Humor In My Life with John McCain,” is dubbed an “intimate memoir” in which McCain opens up about her marriage to her late husband, according to a website for the book.

Sen. McCain died in 2018 due to glioblastoma, or brain cancer.

The book is scheduled for release on April 27, and is currently available for preorder.

Forum, an imprint of Penguin Random House, will be publishing the book, according to The Associated Press.

“Being married to John for 38 years was an adventure,” Cindy McCain said in a statement according to AP. “Because of what I learned from him about honor and courage, I know how to use my voice to stand up for what I believe is best for me, my family, and America. Writing ‘Stronger’ at this time was important to me, and I’m excited to share the full story of our life together.”

McCain, a lifelong Republican, made headlines last year when she supported President Biden during the 2020 presidential election over former President Trump, noting Biden’s personal relationship with the McCain family while both served in the Senate. The late senator often found himself the subject of attack from the former president during his final tenure.

The Arizona Republican Party censured McCain in late January over her support of Biden over former President Trump.
