Universal Orlando announced in a Tuesday statement that it was “evaluating” its Dr. Seuss-themed attraction after the company that manages the late author’s books announced six of them would no longer be published.

A Universal spokesperson told The Hill that it will review Seuss Landing, the in-park experience at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, while the area will remain open.

“Seuss Landing continues to be very popular with our guests and we value our relationship with Seuss Enterprises,” the spokesperson said. “We’ve removed the books from our shelves as they have asked and we’ll be evaluating our in-park experience too. But our guests can plan on continuing to be able to enjoy their favorite experiences at Seuss Landing.”

Seuss Landing includes theming after the selected books that Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced on Tuesday it would no longer be printing due to racially insensitive images that “portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong.”

The attraction includes a play area themed after Theodor Geisel’s “If I Ran the Zoo,” which has been condemned for its racist depiction of Asian and Black people.

The area also has a shop called Mulberry Street Store and street sign named Mulberry Street after the first book penned by Dr. Seuss “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,” which includes a controversial portrayal of an Asian man.

Dr. Seuss Enterprises made the announcement about discontinuing the six books on the author’s birthday, which coincides with Read Across America Day.

“Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families,” the company said to The Associated Press.

Other theme parks have announced updates to attractions after criticisms of racist depictions and stories, including Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” and “Splash Mountain” attractions in Disneyland and Disney World.
