A family of six were found this week fatally shot in Texas, according to police.

The Allen Police Department said two brothers killed four family members before killing themselves.

Officers discovered the six family members at a home in the Dallas suburb at approximately 1 a.m. on Monday after a friend of the family called to report a social media post from one of the brothers, the Allen Police Department confirmed to The Hill.

The brother posted a suicide letter on social media describing the graphic incident.

The six deceased are the brothers, Farhan Towhid and Tanvir Towhid; their father, Towhidul Islam; their mother, Iren Islam; their grandmother, Altafun Nessa; and their 19-year-old sister, Farbin Towhid.

Allen Police Sgt. Jon Felty described the graphic incident as a “tragedy.”

“I mean, words can’t describe what it’s like,” he told The Hill. He said he was at the home of the family on Monday, where 50 to 100 neighbors, community members and others had gathered in shock.

Altafun Nessa was visiting the family from Bangladesh and was schedule to return home last week, according to reports. However, her flight was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Farbin Towhid, the twin sister of Farhan Towhid, had recently accepted a scholarship to attend New York University.

Police have not confirmed when the incident took place, but Felty said that investigators believe the deaths occurred on Saturday based on evidence at the scene.

Investigators also confirmed that several other family members were in Florida traveling to Texas to visit.

Police said their investigation into the incident is ongoing and that any person with additional information should contact Allen authorities.
