NFL player Antonio Brown settles with trainer who accused him of sexual assault
NFL free agent Antonio Brown has settled with a former personal trainer who filed a lawsuit against him in 2019 over claims he sexually assaulted her.
Gymnast and former trainer Britney Taylor said Brown sexually assaulted her three times, twice in 2017 and once in 2018.
She sued him, and Brown countersued, saying the accusations were false and she only made them because he wouldn’t invest in her gymnastics business.
The claims were settled Wednesday with their dismissal being filed to Broward County, Fla., NBC News reported.
Taylor’s attorney David Hass put out a joint statement with a representative for Brown, Alana Burstyn.
“Having reflected on their relationship, both feel that the time has come to move on. Antonio is grateful for Britney’s excellent training assistance,” the statement said. “They are pleased that Antonio is doing so well with the Bucs and has a ring. Their dispute is resolved and they wish each other great continued success.”
The terms of the settlement are unknown.
“My team is excited about moving ahead with many opportunities and requests for Antonio,” Burstyn said.
Nike dropped its contract with Brown when the sexual assault allegations came out.
