Memorial service will be livestreamed for Rapper DMX
Rapper and actor DMX will have his memorial service live streamed on Sunday at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
It will be live streamed at 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on the late rapper’s YouTube channel and another event from a New York City church to honor the rapper will be broadcasted at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Black Entertainment Television on Sunday, Reuters reported.
Rapper DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, died at 50-years-old from a “catastrophic cardiac arrest” early in April.
The heart attack was reportedly caused by a drug overdose, but the rapper’s lawyer has not confirmed or denied the accusation.
Celebrities and fans mourned the loss of the rapper online after his death with his family putting out a statement.
“He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him,” the family’s statement said. “Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever.”
The family also had to warn fans against fake fundraising schemes for the rapper’s funeral.
