Biden picks dandelion flower for Jill from White House lawn

President Biden was seen picking a flower for first lady Jill Biden from the White House lawn as the two departed for Georgia on Thursday.

Video of the pair leaving the White House and boarding Marine One showed the president bending down to pluck a dandelion for his wife, who stops and accepts the token.

The two are headed for Atlanta, where the president is set to address supporters at a rally. Attendees will remain in their vehicles due to COVID-19 concerns as the president touts his administration’s accomplishments and previews his legislative agenda going forward.

Biden and the first lady are also set to meet with former President Carter, the oldest living former president, and his wife, former first lady Rosalyn Carter.

The Carters were unable to attend Biden’s inauguration due to the pandemic but have since both been vaccinated.

The trip immediately follows the president’s address to a joint session of Congress Wednesday evening, during which Biden touted the recently passed COVID-19 relief package he signed into law.

He also called on lawmakers to address issues of gun violence, infrastructure and immigration, among other issues.
