Meghan McCain: Greene ‘behaving like an animal’
Meghan McCain, co-host of “The View,” said Friday that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) was “behaving like an animal” in a resurfaced video showing Greene harassing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-N.Y.) office in 2019.
The Facebook livestream from February 2019, which was unearthed by CNN’s KFile and published Friday, showed Greene and some male companions speaking into the office door’s mailbox slot and telling Ocasio-Cortez to “get rid of your diaper” and come outside.
McCain said on Twitter that Greene’s behavior gives Democrats the chance to paint all Republicans like “psychotic barbarians.”
“You’re behaving like an animal — harassing @AOC like this only gives democrats what they want which is to paint all of us like we’re psychotic barbarians! Aside from the fact that this is just abusive and abhorrent behavior from anyone, let alone a sitting member of Congress,” McCain tweeted.

Greene, who at the time was a conservative activist, at one point says in the video: “If you want to be a big girl, you need to get rid of your diaper and come out and be able to talk to the American citizens, instead of us having to use a flap, a little flap. Sad.”
One of her companions then taunts Ocasio-Cortez, asking, “Can you come out and play?” Greene and her companions then write “Ocasio Crazy Cortez” and “Trump 2020” in a visitor’s book outside the office.
Greene defended her actions on Friday.
“Walking around and talking to members of Congress who serve the taxpayers that, now we’ve got taxpayers aren’t even allowed to come talk to us, that’s the context,” Green said. “We should be able to ask questions about the Green New Deal that’s socialism.”
The video’s release came amid an escalating feud between the two lawmakers.
On Wednesday, Greene aggressively confronted Ocasio-Cortez outside the House chamber and demanded they debate the Green New Deal. The incident was witnessed by reporters from The Washington Post.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said the incident was “verbal assault,” adding that it might be a matter for the House Ethics Committee to investigate. Greene has denied screaming at Ocasio-Cortez.
On Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez likened Greene to the “kinds of people that I threw out of bars.”
“I used to work as a bartender. These are the kinds of people that I threw out of bars all the time,” she told reporters on Capitol Hill.
