Fauci to be featured in book about ‘life philosophy’
The nation’s top infectious disease expert, Anthony Fauci, is slated to featured in a book about “life philosophy.”
The book, titled “Expect the Unexpected: Ten Lessons on Truth, Service, and the Way Forward,” is scheduled for publication in November.
The book was announced back in May by Publishers Lunch and will go on sale Nov. 2.
It was developed by National Geographic books in connection with an upcoming documentary about Fauci by National Geographic.
In a statement to The Hill on Wednesday, a spokesperson for National Geographic said the book will be a collection of Fauci’s speeches and interviews, and that Fauci will not receive any royalties.
“He will not earn any royalties from its publication (or from the upcoming documentary),” the spokesperson said, adding that the book “was prematurely posted for pre-sale.”
Booksellers such as Amazon have removed their previous postings for the book.
Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has been a leader in the U.S.’s pandemic response since the outbreak began. He has served under former President Trump as part of the White House coronavirus task force, and is currently President Biden’s chief medical adviser.
A spokesperson at the National Institutes of Health also confirmed that Fauci would not be paid any royalties for the 80-page book.
Fauci is the highest-paid federal employee — including making more than the president — with a salary of more than $417,000 a year.
When the book was previously posted for pre-sale, Fauci came under criticism from those arguing he should not be profiting from the pandemic.
Dr. Fauci is publishing a book and became the highest paid federal government employee while you lost your business and had your kids out of school for a year

Profiting from the pandemic with a book deal is truly a new low.https://t.co/sdsts2rtAg

Fauci has a book coming out, because of course the highest paid Federal Government grifter is cashing in even more on the pandemic.
