Biden, Obama to speak at Reid’s funeral in Nevada

President Biden, former President Obama and other top Democratic leaders will speak at the late former Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) funeral in Nevada, according to a release on Wednesday.

Biden, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) will give remarks at the funeral while Obama will give the eulogy on Saturday.

“We are honored to have such a distinguished group paying tribute to Harry’s life and accomplishments,” Landra Reid, widow of Harry Reid, said in a statement.

“These are not only some of the most consequential leaders of our time – they are also some of Harry’s best friends. Harry and our family have always had such love and admiration for each of them and their families. Harry loved every minute of his decades working with these leaders and the incredible things they accomplished together,” she added.

Reid was one of the most powerful Democrats to serve in Washington as he was majority leader in the Senate from 2007 to 2015.

He worked with Biden for more than 20 years while Biden served in the Senate and during his time as vice president.

Reid died after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of 82.
