Chelsea Clinton to launch ‘Save The …’ book series in fall

Chelsea Clinton will be launching a book series this fall dedicated to animal conservation, her publisher announced Friday.

Philomel Books, run by Penguin Young Readers, said Clinton would be releasing a book in the upcoming year and helping others publish, The Associated Press reported

The series “Save the…”, which will have a different animal for each book, is a project Clinton is doing in collaboration with other authors.

The series will begin in September with three books released. The books will include “Save the … Elephants” by Sarah L. Thompson, “Save the … Tigers” by Christine Taylor-Butler and “Save the … Whale Sharks” by Anita Sanchez.

In addition, Clinton will release her own book titled “Welcome to the Big Kids Club: What Every Older Sibling Needs to Know!”

The picture book for kids will be available starting Sept. 13 with illustrations by Tania de Regil, according to the AP.

“‘Welcome to the Big Kids Club’ is a reflection of conversations I’ve had with my kids and so many other kids about what it means to have a baby in the family,” Clinton said in the announcement.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this book and the newest ‘Save The’ series. My hope is that young readers and their families will enjoy and learn as much from the books in this series as I have, whether about whale sharks, frogs or more animals that could disappear if we don’t all work together to save them,” she added.

Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, has been published multiple times before and launched a podcast last year.

The Hill has reached out to the publisher for comment.
