Creigh Deeds, fresh off his compelling victory in the Va. Democratic Gubernatorial primary, leads Republican Bob McDonnell in a new Rasmussen Poll.
By 47%-41%, Virginia’s support Deeds over McDonnell in the first poll released since Deeds won the primary on Tuesday.
A qualifier, however: the poll was only in the field for one day (Wednesday), and likely reflects a large amount of good press and momentum for Deeds coming off his victory.
McDonnell got little press while the Democrats were duking it out, so expect Deeds lead to tighten as this turns into a two-man race.
But for now, this is a boost for Deeds, who campaigned as the most electable Democrat.
