In his first fundraiser for a single lawmaker since taking office, President Obama will headline a fundraiser for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on May 26.
Nevada politics guru Jon Ralston has the scoop and the invites. The event is being dubbed “The Good Fight: A Tribute to Nevada’s Senator Harry Reid and will take place at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Tickets are $2,400 per person, $4,800 per couple.
Reid has been considered a top target for Republicans next year. The GOP has not, however, fielded a big league candidate to take him on yet, though.
This is the third fundraiser for Obama since taking office. The previous two were for the Democratic National Committee. He is also planning to headline a June 18 fundraiser for the Democrats’ campaign committees.
