DCCC targets 6 GOPers with ‘Tax Man’ radio ads

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced Thursday that it is targeting six Republicans with radio ads criticizing them for opposing President Obama’s tax plan.

The DCCC is touting the ads as the fourth stage of its “Putting Families First Campaign.” As Tax Day approaches on April 15, the ads are another attempt to blast Republicans to unanimously opposing Obama’s $787 economic stimulus plan that Democrats say includes a tax cut for 95 of Americans.

The 60-second ads portray a couple talking to their accountant. “This year I’ve got some good news because Congress passed the economic recovery package,” the accountant says. “It’s the biggest tax cut in American history, it gives families like yours a huge tax break.”

The ad, entitled “Tax Man,” will beginning running on Monday for a week in the following Republican representatives’ districts: Mike Castle (Del.), Ken Calvert (Calif.), Bill Young (Fla.), Thaddeus McCotter (Mich.), Charlie Dent (Pa.) and Michael McCaul (Texas).
