OFA to present 642,000 pledges in support of budget

OK, so this is a little more impressive than the 100,000 signatures first reported. Organizing for America spokeswoman Natalie Wyeth tells the BBR that the group will present more than 642,000 pledges of support for President Obama’s budget to Congress on Wednesday.

OFA, Obama’s political arm, went to work for the first time in mid-March to drum up support for Obama’s budget. Obama released a video and the group held pledge drives across the country two weekends ago and online.

The group is holding a rally on Wednesday to present the pledges to Congress.

This is obviously a lot more impressive than those 100,000 signatures. But will the effort persuade moderate Republicans to back the president’s budget over the their own alternative? The comments section awaits below.

UPDATE: Wyeth also noted that OFA had 200 volunteers at the rally today.
