Bunning apologizes for cursing at reporters

Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) apologized to reporters Wednesday a day after cursing at them on a conference call.

“I am sorry for taking the Lord’s name in vain,” Bunning said in a statement, reported by a local NBC affiliate. “After 59 years of dealing with the media, sometimes they get under your skin, but that is no excuse.”

When asked yesterday about the results of an internal poll commissioned by Bunning’s campaign, Bunning replied: “It’s none of your godd— business.”

The Bunning comments come after weeks of behavior from the two-term Senator leaving some Republicans to openly wonder if he should seek reelection. Bunning has threatened to sue National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Chairman John Cornyn should he not back Bunning, and mused openly that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg may not live to see the end of the year.
