Former Sen. Norm Coleman turned up at Tuesday’s Senate GOP policy lunch, telling reporters he was also in town to strategize with Republican National Committee officials about his election lawsuit.
Coleman said his lawyers will conclude his case this week and that he is confident he will prevail over Democrat Al Franken, who he has sued before the Minnesota Supreme Court. Coleman is currently trying to overturn Franken’s 225-vote lead.
“In about two weeks I think we’ll have a pretty good idea of what this court will do,” Coleman said. “Listen, I know I got more votes in that election and I know I had more votes when the recount started and I’m confident when all is said and done I’ll have more votes.”
