Actor Val Kilmer has retained a Washington, D.C.-based public relations firm as part of a potential precursor to a run for the governorship of New Mexico.
Kilmer has hired McMahon, Squier & Associates after having traveled to D.C. last week, the New Mexico Independent reported.
Kilmer has publicly toyed with a run for the governor’s office after current Gov. Bill Richardson (D), who is term-limited, leaves office in 2010.
Kilmer, a registed Democrat, would face Lt. Gov. Diane Denish in a primary, the Independent reported.
