Caligiuri Mulling Run Against Dodd

Connecticut state Sen. Sam Caligiuri is mulling a run against Sen. Chris Dodd in 2010.

“I thank Senator Dodd for his service to Connecticut, and I appreciate his commitment to public service, but I don’t think he is the same Chris Dodd we sent to the Senate nearly 30 years ago, and I think he has forgotten over time that he is there to represent Connecticut,” Caligiuri told the Republican American.

Dodd appeared vulnerable in a recent Quinnipiac poll and, along with Caligiuri, former Rep. Rob Simmons and Thomas Foley, a former ambassador to Ireland, are said to be considering the race. Former Rep. Chris Shays (R) told the Briefing Room that he isn’t runnign for the seat.
