House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) is heading to upstate New York Tuesday to stump for Democrat Scott Murphy, who is vying for Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s (D-N.Y.) former House seat against Republican Assemblyman Jim Tedisco.
According to Murphy’s campaign, Hoyer will join Murphy and labor leaders in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to discuss the $787 billion economic stimulus planned that passed last week.
Hoyer’s visit comes a day after Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) swung through the district and a few days after Gillibrand campaigned there.
