Bartlett to run in 2010

Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-Md.) will seek a 10th term next year, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Bartlett, the only Republican in Maryland’s congressional delegation, plans to make a formal announcement “sometime in the future,” Bartlett’s spokesman, Lisa Wright, told the Sun.

Bartlett’s move comes as Andrew Duck (D) announced on Monday that he will challenge the Republican again next year. Duck garnered 38 percent of the vote in his 2006 challenge to Bartlett in the sprawling western Maryland district. Duck also ran in the Democratic primary for the seat in 2008 but lost that race to former Frederick Mayor Jennifer Dougherty.
