Tran launches campaign in wrong district
Van Tran, the much talked about Republican California assemblyman who is challenging Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D), may wish he could redo his campaign announcement on Wednesday.
Why? Because he launched his campaign outside of Sanchez’s district.
The Orange County Register reports that the site of Tran’s announcement, his Little Saigon headquarters, is located in the 46th District, not Sanchez’s 47th District.
Woops.
Here is what Tran’s aide, Dave Everett, told the Register.
Everett said Tran and his aides knew the location was outside the district, but went with it anyway because it’s only “like a block out of Garden Grove” and because it’s a good, central location for the Vietnamese press.
“What, are we going to quibble with a block?” he asked.
