GOP Attacks Murphy With Website

The National Republican Congressional Committee continues its barrage of press releases on Scott Murphy, the Democrat seeking Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s House seat, launching a website on Thursday dedicated to the NRCC first line of attack: Murphy’s taxes.

The site – MurphyAboveTheLaw.com – hits on their allegations that Murphy failed to pay taxes for on his company before he sold it. (For a full background on the tax issue and Murphy and Republican Jim Tedisco’s campaigns, check out our story here. It’s worth noting, as is in that story, that Murphy’s campaign refutes all of the charges by saying the tax liends became a responsibility of the company’s new owner when it was sold. )

The website, though, is another yet another indication that the race for Gillibrand’s seat is the GOP’s top priority right now.
