DCCC: House Dems Face Historic Challenges in 2010

House Democrats face historical challenges in defending their majority or expanding it in 2010, the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said Wednesday morning.

But, Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) added, the DCCC has already re-launched its successful Frontline Program aimed at defending newly elected Democratic representatives

Further, Van Hollen noted that the party of a newly-elected president typical fairs poorly in the next election. In 1994, he noted, Republicans regained control of the House two years into President Bill Clinton
