Mock Swearing-In for Fudge Tomorrow
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will hold a mock swearing-in ceremony for Rep.-elect Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) tomorrow at 1 p.m. in room H-210 of the Capitol. Fudge will replace the late Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D) in Ohio’s 11th district seat.
Fudge defeated Republican Thomas Pekarek on Nov. 4 after being picked by Democratic officials to replace Tubbs Jones on the ballot. Several weeks after Fudge’s victory as a stand-in candidate, she ran unopposed to replace Tubbs Jones in Congress.
Fudge will be sworn in officially tomorrow afternoon on the House floor.
