RNC Party Subdued
As the band played golden oldies at the Republican National Committee’s Election Night party, the GOP faithful were all but ignoring the results scrolling across the large silent television monitors at the Capital Hilton on Tuesday night.
A few ventured out onto the dance floor, but most busied themselves buying drink tickets for the cash bar ($7.75 for mixed drinks, more than $5 for domestic beers) and then stood in small groups speculating over how the night unfold.
To say the mood subdued would be a vast understatements.
