Palin’s Night Receives Highest Preliminary TV Ratings Yet
Wednesday night at the Republican convention, headlined by Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s veep nomination speech, was the most watched convention night of the election season, according to early television ratings reported by TV Week.
The convention on NBC received a preliminary 5.4 rating and an 8 share. That means that 5.4 percent of all U.S. televisions were tuned to NBC at that time and that 8 percent of the televisions in use at that hour were on NBC.
That rating was higher than any of the ratings for the previous convention nights, including last Thursday evening, when Barack Obama accepted the Democratic presidential nomination.
The ratings, however, are subject to change as Nielsen, the ratings company, receives more data.
