Convention Coverage Turns Into Storm Updates
The broadcast news networks had already scheduled an hour of primetime coverage at 10 p.m. on Monday for the Republican National Convention. But with the convention speeches abbreviated because of Hurricane Gustav, the networks will now use that time to broadcast updates on the storm.
On ABC, Charlie Gibson will anchor a special one-hour edition of 20/20. George Stephanopoulos will provide political updates from St. Paul.
Katie Couric will anchor a one-hour special from Baton Rouge. Bob Schieffer will have updates St. Paul.
On NBC, Brian Williams is in New Orleans for their news special while Tom Brokaw will be in St. Paul.
