Donna Edwards Elected to Congress
Donna Edwards (D-Md.) won a special election to replace former Rep. Al Wynn (D) Tuesday.
Edwards, an anti-war Democrat who has received strong support from liberal activists, captured about four-fifths of the vote against token opposition, reports the Baltimore Sun.
She defeated Wynn in a Democratic primary in February after nearly toppling him in 2006. Wynn retired soon after his loss to take a lobbying job.
