Americans narrowly approve of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner’s job performance, a Gallup poll released Monday showed.
42 percent of Americans told the poll they approve of the way Geithner has handled his job, while 40 percent disapprove. 18 percent of Americans have no opinion.
While Republicans generally disapproved of Geithner and Democrats approved, Independent voters were split on the embattled Treasury secretary’s performance.

The poll, conducted Mar. 27-29, has a three percent margin of error.
