Clinton: China Shouldn’t Repeat U.S. ‘Mistakes’
Americans want a better standard of living for the Chinese people, but do not want China to make the same “mistakes” the U.S. did in its development, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said.
In an interview with a state-run Chinese newspaper, which was sponsored by the Pittsburgh-based Alcoa corporation, Clinton said that Americans hoped the Chinese would not make the same energy-wasting choices the U.S. made when it industrialized.
