Obama ‘absolutely’ didn’t convince KBH on Gitmo

Responses to the speeches are starting to trickle in. First up is Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) who just said President Obama’s speech did not convince her in the least that closing Guantanamo Bay is a good idea.

“Absolutely not,” she just said on MSNBC. “Nothing the president said persuaded me, or the people who think it is really a anger to America to let prisoners from Guantanamo Bay into [our] communities.”

Hutchison, who is running for governor of Texas next year, said terrorist detainees in the U.S. would draw out “escape plots” and that “it is highly dangerous.”

“I hope the president rethinks this decision,” she said.
