Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele was at Senate Republicans’ weekly lunch on Tuesday, revealing to reporters only that he was “just catching up with them about what’s happening in the party and the states and beginning to focus on reapportionment.”
Steele also said Rush Limbaugh’s criticism of his early tenure over the RNC did not come up with the meeting, but that he has reached out to the popular talk show host. Limbaugh on Sunday night told CNN that Steele was “off to a shaky start” as the RNC head, and that Steele should recognize he is not a pundit. He was responding to Steele’s comment that portions of Limbaugh’s show are “ugly.”
“I’ve talked with Rush and we’re all good,” Steele said Tuesday.
