Gregg Will Vote Against Stimulus: AP

Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.), fresh off withdrawing as the Obama administration’s Commerce Secretary, told the Associated Press Friday that he will vote against the stimulus plan in the Senate.

Gregg, who recused himself on the first vote in the Senate to send the upper chamber’s version of the stimulus to conference, pledged to now vote against it, citing a waste of money in the package.

Following his nomination as Commerce Secretary, Gregg had appeared on television to speak in support of the administration-backed proposal.

According to the AP, Gregg said the amount of money is not the problem, but the “uderlying policy” in the spending.
