The Department of Justice has summarized in a news release its findings that led to the arrest on Tuesday of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) on corruption charges.
The 6-page release spells out Blagojevich’s alleged attempts at selling or trading Illinois’s vacant U.S. Senate seat in order to obtain personal benefits. The release explains how intercepted calls involving Blagojevich has led to charges that the governor misused state funding to try to oust editorial writers at the Chicago Tribune.
