Rep. Brian Higgins (D-N.Y.) is seeking the seat on the House Ways and Means Committee left vacant by retiring Rep. Mike McNulty (D-N.Y.).
Higgins released a statement making clear his interest in joining the committee, considered powerful for its ability to control money for House members’ pet projects. Two the committee’s seats, those of McNulty and retiring Rep. Tom Reynolds (R-N.Y.) are open.
