McCain ‘Disappointed’ in Obama Outreach

Despite having been feted at a preinaugural dinner by President Obama, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said he has been disappointed by the administration’s outreach to congressional Republicans.

“I am very disappointed that the Administration and the Democrats in the House and in the Senate did not sit down with Republicans on this major challenge to America, and that’s to get our economy going again,” McCain said during an appearance on Fox & Friends Friday morning.

McCain also castigated the president for having called out the conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh recently.

“I don’t know why he would do that,” McCain said. ‘Mr. Limbaugh is the voice of a significant portion of the conservative movement in America.”

“He [Limbaugh] is entitled to his views. People listen very carefully to him,” McCain added, having been an occasional target of Limbaugh. “He’s part of the political landscape and he plays a role.”
