Reid: Automaker Aid Only Possible With Bush and GOP Help
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) called on President Bush and Senate Republicans to join Democrats in calling for more federal aid for ailing U.S. carmakers.
Democrats are pressing the Republicans to allow some of the $700 billion approved in the market bailout bill for car companies. Reid said he hopes Congress will approve the aid during a lame-duck session next week.
