Levi Johnston Quits Job Over Questions
Levi Johnston, the boyfriend of Bristol Palin, has left his oil field job over questions about his qualifications to hold it, reports the Anchorage Daily News.
Johnston, who became the father of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s (R) grandson last month, had been working for ASRC Energy Services in the North Slope of the state. But a newspaper columnist questioned whether Johnston, 18, could take the job because he doesn’t have a high school diploma. The columnist, Dan Fagan, also questioned whether Johnston received the job because he was close to the governor. Palin and Johnston’s family has denied that he received special help.
Johnston decided to fly home to Wasilla Monday, his father told the newspaper.
“He felt it was the best thing to do to kind of calm the waters, so to speak,” Keith Johnston said.
