Sen. John McCain’s appearance on “The Tonight Show” helped give Jay Leno and NBC a ratings victory over its competitors on Tuesday night, according to Media Life Magazine.
Leno’s show got a 4.9 rating and a 12 share. That means it was seen by nearly 5 percent of households and by 12 percent of households with televisions on at that time. It was the show’s biggest audience since January.
CBS’s “Late Show” recieved a 3.2 rating and an 8 share, while ABC’s “Nightline” got a 3.1 rating and a 7 share.
