Keith Olbermann, the left-leaning MSNBC talk-show host, received a contract extension that will keep him with the cable network and NBC News through the next presidential election, reports TVNewser.
Olbermann has become one of the most powerful liberal voices on cable news. On his show, “Countdown,” he supported Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) over Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) during the presidential primaries. More recently, he helped get MSNBC to replace host Dan Abrams with Rachel Maddow, the liberal pundit who often appeared on “Countdown.”
Despite his obvious political leanings, Olbermann told The View on Monday that he doesn’t vote and didn’t cast a ballot this year.
