Bush Schedules Speaking Engagement in Canada

President Bush has scheduled his first post-White House speaking engagement for next month, and it won’t take place in the U.S.

Bush will travel to Calgary, Alberta to speak at a private event March 17, The Dallas Morning News reports. The event will be hosted by a Canadian film organization, according to the paper.

The sponsorship and production company that reportedly arranged the engagement have previously landed such luminaries as President Bill Clinton, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R), and former Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan for appearances.

The company, TinePublic, Inc., paid Clinton $125,000 for an appearance in Canada in 2005, according to The Washington Post. No word yet on how much Bush will get paid for the Calgary speech.

Invitations to the event are billing it as “a conversation with George W. Bush” in which the former president will “share his thoughts on his eight momentous years in the Oval Office,” according to The Dallas Morning News.
