For Once Hawaii Voters Had a Real Voice (Rep. Neil Abercrombie)

We are elated at last night’s Hawaii Caucus results; first that Senator Obama won with such an overwhelming margin, second that the voter turnout was many times larger than in the past, and third, that for the first time, Hawaii voters had a real voice in the selection of the next President. Barack Obama’s character and values were shaped by the multi-ethnic, multi-cultural influences of Hawaii. If there were any doubts about his ability to attract the votes to win the Democratic Primary and the General Election, they were put to rest in Wisconsin and Hawaii.
