It is my hope that the House will affirm the bi-partisan agreement reached by the Senate yesterday. In my estimation there is no issue of greater importance to our nation at the present times. The surveillance of foreign terrorists is critical to our ability to protect our homeland and to assure the safety of the American people. The Senate has risen to this challenge by passing legislation that is not perfect, but which responds to the basic concerns laid out by DNI Admiral McConnell.
