We Are Sending a Strong Message (Rep. Albio Sires)
I think the unanimous passage today of H.Con.Res. 200 out of the House Foreign Affairs Committee sends a strong message to the leaders in Myanmar that their utter disregard for human rights won’t continue to be tolerated. In recent day, the peaceful pro-democracy protests of thousands of Buddhist monks were met with government violence, and the military dictatorship in Myanmar should be warned that the world is watching.
