Secretary Johanns was a very good person to head the Department of Agriculture and I hate to lose him in that position, especially before a new farm bill is finished. I appreciate his support on payment limits, but I believe our early push for this policy will propel it into the bill even if he’s not at the agency.
Secretary Johanns is dedicated to public service and running for the U.S. Senate would allow him to continue in that capacity. It’s essential we have someone of his caliber running for the Senate in order for the Republican Party to keep that seat.
