Lee Criticizes “Mission Accomplished,” Withdrawal Veto

Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) criticized President Bush’s looming veto of the Democrats’ war spending bill Tuesday in a floor speech that focused on Bush’s “mission accomplished” proclamation aboard the U.S.S. Lincoln. Tuesday marked the fourth anniversary of Bush’s statements on the aircraft carrier.

“History will record the president’s veto … with the same ridicule as it does his remarks four years ago,” Lee said, calling the administration’s Iraq rhetoric “increasingly desperate.” Find the video below.
