In an interview with the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) blasted Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) by saying Democrats were undermining U.S. operations in Iraq.
“We have people dying,” DeLay said. “Not just our soldiers, but innocent citizens dying in Iraq and Afghanistan at the hands of these evil people, and you have your elected leaders making these kinds of statements that embolden the enemy. It’s unbelievable.”
DeLay was responding to Reid’s comments on Monday that the president was in a “state of denial” about the war and Congressional Democrats would push for legislation mandating U.S. troop withdrawal from the region.
