The case of the Jena 6 is a prime example of the residual racism that remains at all levels of the judicial system. Prosecutors routinely abuse their power by overcharging minority suspects while turning a blind eye to hateful acts committed by others. The ugly truth is that racism and a dual system of justice are still alive and well in America. Congress needs to take a close look at why some Americans enjoy equal protection under the law, and others, like the Jena 6, do not.
